We Can’t Win Without This’: Tatum Exposes the Celtics’ Hidden Weakness

The Boston Celtics are poised for another deep playoff push, aiming to finish strong like they did last season. With a well-rounded roster, they have all the tools to compete at the highest level once again. This time, they bring added experience, which could prove vital, especially since they might not enjoy home-court advantage. However, that’s not a major concern for the team. According to them, staying healthy and maintaining team chemistry are the top priorities.

Star forward Jayson Tatum emphasized that there’s more to winning a championship than just talent. Following a victory over the Charlotte Hornets, Tatum reflected on the importance of appreciating the journey. He highlighted the significance of acknowledging the team’s accomplishments during the regular season—winning over 60 games—as something to be proud of. Still, he stressed the need to shift focus and prepare both mentally and physically for the challenges ahead in the playoffs.

The current Celtics core struggled in past seasons to get over the playoff hump, but last year marked a turning point. Despite having championship aspirations, Tatum believes the team must not lose sight of the process. He aims to lead the group into the postseason with focus, energy, and, above all, good health.

Now 27, Tatum is undeniably the heart of this team. Although last season’s outcomes might not have fully reflected his impact, his performance this year confirms his leadership role. Entering his eighth straight postseason, Tatum remains a consistent presence in the playoffs. Over 113 career playoff games, he has averaged 24.0 points, 7.9 rebounds, 4.9 assists, and 1.1 steals per game, while shooting 44% from the field and 34.5% from beyond the arc. He shows no signs of slowing down as the Celtics chase a title.
