Steal of the Draft? Broncos Shock NFL with Bold Move for Alabama’s Defensive Phenom

Despite a disappointing 2024 season for Alabama football, the program still produced several NFL-ready talents. One such player, linebacker Jihaad Campbell, was chosen by the Philadelphia Eagles with the 31st pick in the 2025 NFL Draft. Shortly after, the New York Jets selected Alabama defensive back Malachi Moore at No. 130 overall. It wasn’t long before another Crimson Tide standout was taken, this time by the Denver Broncos.

With the 134th pick, Denver drafted linebacker Que Robinson, a consistent performer over his three years at Alabama. In the 2024 season, Robinson recorded career highs, including seven tackles for loss (TFL), 23 total tackles, and four sacks. His standout performances included three TFLs in a close 40-35 defeat to Vanderbilt and a game against Wisconsin where he forced and recovered a fumble along with two tackles.

A former four-star prospect from the 2020 recruiting class, according to 247Sports, Robinson’s earlier seasons saw moderate production, compiling 31 tackles, four TFLs, two sacks, and a fumble recovery between 2022 and 2023. His steady development culminated in his final season, making him an appealing choice for NFL teams. Robinson is the first Alabama pass rusher to be selected since Chris Braswell, who was drafted 57th overall by the Tampa Bay Buccaneers in 2024.

Now, Robinson will head to Denver, where he will strengthen the Broncos’ outside linebacker group led by veteran Jonathan Cooper. He is expected to compete with Jonah Elliss, a 2024 third-round selection, for a key rotational role behind Cooper.
