The Las Vegas Raiders have received significant praise for their offseason decisions, with new general manager John Spytek making key moves. Despite losing half of their defensive starters, the team has successfully replaced them with cost-effective free agents who can still perform at a high level.
In addition to these defensive changes, the Raiders also traded for quarterback Geno Smith, but their offensive lineup is still a work in progress. Recently, Vincent Bonsignore from the Las Vegas Review-Journal released a mock draft predicting the Raiders’ next moves. His projection has the team addressing their offensive needs by selecting Boise State running back Ashton Jeanty, Missouri wide receiver Luther Burden III, and Alabama quarterback Jalen Milroe in the first three rounds.
Jeanty had an exceptional 2024 season with Boise State, rushing for 2,601 yards and 29 touchdowns. He finished second in the Heisman Trophy voting, trailing only Colorado’s Travis Hunter. Adding Jeanty would address the Raiders’ significant gap at running back.
Burden, despite a drop in performance last year, is still considered a high-upside prospect. He is one of the youngest players in the draft and has the potential to be a game-changer. Similarly, Milroe’s stock took a hit last season due to a coaching change, but he possesses the physical traits that could make him an NFL star in the future.
The Raiders are in need of a top-tier wide receiver to complement Jakobi Meyers, and adding a young quarterback to learn under Geno Smith would also be beneficial. If these three players are selected, they could have a profound impact on the team’s future, offering long-term potential and reshaping the franchise’s outlook.
