Raiders’ Bold Move? Why This $29M All-Pro WR Could Be Hours Away from a Shocking Comeback

Despite wide receiver being a major need for the Las Vegas Raiders this offseason, the team has yet to make any significant moves to improve the position. Free agency began over a month ago, yet the Raiders have not signed any notable wide receivers.

Still, there are veteran options available, including Tyler Lockett, who was recently released by the Seattle Seahawks. Given his strong connection with former coach Pete Carroll and his consistent career performance, Lockett seems like a logical fit for Las Vegas. Though he is now 32, he could serve as a dependable WR3 or WR4 on the Raiders’ depth chart. However, Lockett remains unsigned.

Vic Tafur of The Athletic believes that Lockett may still end up in Las Vegas. During an appearance on the “Just Win” podcast, Tafur explained that the veteran receiver market is still in flux. He noted that players like Keenan Allen and Amari Cooper are also waiting to see how the market unfolds, especially after Stefon Diggs secured a better deal than many expected. According to Tafur, Lockett could be waiting for similar opportunities.

Tafur believes the Raiders will eventually add a veteran wide receiver, as their current depth is lacking. He emphasized the importance of bolstering the position before the NFL Draft arrives. With the wide receiver market slowly taking shape, a signing like Lockett’s could still happen in the near future.
