Parkinson has suddenly seen the home form turn and Wrexham’s 0-0 draw with Bolton Wanderers on Saturday was a touch frustrating.
Tuesday night saw Wrexham claim all three points though as Steven Fletcher scored the only goal against Huddersfield.
The winning goal was representative of a scrappy game with Fletcher bundling the ball home from a goalmouth scramble.
Wrexham saw the game out to claim a 1-0 victory and keep pace with Wycombe Wanderers in the League One promotion race.
Wycombe beat Burton Albion 2-0 on Tuesday night, so it really was imperative that Wrexham secured a victory in Yorkshire.
Wrexham fans praised Fletcher as the hero with the Scot once again coming off the bench to score the winner.
Huddersfield had plenty of the ball, claiming 61% of possession, but only mustered two shots on target.
January signing Dion Charles squandered a golden chance in the first half, blazing over when played in on goal.
Terriers boss Michael Duff rued that moment when speaking to BBC West Yorkshire Sport after the final whistle.
Duff noted that big moments went against Huddersfield as Charles missed the target but Fletcher scored his contentious winner.
Duff pointed to a foul and an offside for Fletcher’s goal whilst claiming that Wrexham did ‘nothing’ going forward throughout the game.
“A good performance but we ended up having to get disrupted again through injuries,” said Duff.
“It’s frustrating, I thought the performance was good. In these big games, big moments, we’re clean through one on one… they’ve done nothing all the game. I don’t think they’ve hardly created a chance all game.
“There’s a foul in the build-up to it and he’s (Fletcher) offside because he’s stood on the line, so that’s where we’re at at the minute, it’s frustrating but the actual performance was miles better, it looked a little bit more like us,” he added.
Wrexham at least matched Wycombe’s result on Tuesday night and a big weekend is now on the horizon.
Wrexham host Rotherham United and will hope to finally come up with a home League One victory after recent struggles at the STōK Cae Ras.
Wycombe are on the road this weekend, taking on Peterborough United away from home.
The Posh have started turning a corner after a poor season and Wrexham will be seeking a favour from former midfield maestro Darren Ferguson.
These games will be pivotal as Wrexham then go to Reading in midweek before the huge Wycombe v Wrexham clash.
Tuesday’s result allowed Wrexham to stay right on Wycombe’s shoulder and the coming days give Wrexham a great chance to really pile the pressure on the Chairboys.
Duff may not have been impressed with Wrexham’s display on Tuesday night but Wrexham fans won’t mind one bit as long as the points keep being added to the tally.
