Just days after finalizing their 2025 NFL draft selections, the Denver Broncos are losing a key member of their front office. Brian Stark, the team’s director of college scouting, has been hired by the Las Vegas Raiders as their new assistant general manager. The Raiders officially announced the move on Wednesday.
Stark will be reuniting with Raiders general manager John Spytek, a former Broncos scout who worked alongside Stark between 2013 and 2015. This promotion represents a significant career advancement for Stark, who has been part of Denver’s scouting team since 2012 and was elevated to his current role in 2017. Notably, he was considered for the Broncos’ general manager role in 2021, though the position ultimately went to George Paton, hired from the Minnesota Vikings.
This latest departure marks another loss for a Broncos front office already dealing with turnover. Between January and February, the team saw four front office figures depart, including former assistant GM Darren Mougey, who joined the New York Jets, and vice president of football operations Mark Thewes, who, like Stark, also moved to the Raiders.
As the 2025 season approaches, the Broncos are now faced with several key vacancies behind the scenes. With Sean Payton leading the team as head coach and George Paton still at the helm as general manager, the organization must navigate the challenge of rebuilding its personnel department. The recent losses represent a disruption in continuity that could impact the team’s preparations and long-term planning.
