Philadelphia Eagles Chief Security Officer Dom DiSandro has become a recognizable figure in recent years, as the team has risen to prominence with two Super Bowl appearances against the Kansas City Chiefs, including a decisive victory. While DiSandro has had a few controversial moments on the sidelines—most notably a 2023 altercation with 49ers receiver Brandon Aiyuk that led to a season-long sideline ban—his value to the organization remains strong.
Executive Vice President Howie Roseman recently shed light on DiSandro’s vital behind-the-scenes role, particularly in evaluating the character of draft prospects. DiSandro, who once had a football scholarship to Penn State before being dismissed from the team, has been with the Eagles since 1999 and in his current role since 2011. Despite past controversies, he is beloved by players and respected by the coaching staff, with head coach Nick Sirianni publicly defending him after the Aiyuk incident.
Roseman emphasized that DiSandro plays a key role in the team’s draft process, especially in identifying red flags in potential players. His official title—senior advisor to the general manager/chief security officer/gameday coaching operations—reflects his wide-ranging responsibilities. Roseman praised DiSandro’s unmatched ability to gather and interpret personal information, describing him as the best in the NFL, and perhaps in all of sports, at evaluating player character.
The Eagles are known for their strong draft record, and DiSandro’s insights are a big part of that success. Roseman explained that the team uses strict principles to eliminate certain prospects and relies on DiSandro’s judgment during more subjective evaluations. With the 2025 NFL Draft set to begin Thursday in Green Bay, DiSandro’s behind-the-scenes impact on the Eagles’ future roster continues to be significant.
