Auburn defensive back Tyler Scott will miss the 2024 season after suffering an ACL injury during summer workouts, according to head coach Hugh Freeze. The injury was confirmed during a media availability ahead of Auburn’s AMBUSH event at Lake Martin. Scott, a redshirt freshman, appeared in four games last season, recording two tackles while playing at both nickel and cornerback. A 4-star prospect out of high school, Scott had briefly considered entering the transfer portal in April but chose to stay at Auburn for his second season.

This loss is a significant blow to Auburn’s secondary, especially since it’s the second departure at the cornerback position since the spring game. Colton Hood transferred to Colorado earlier, leaving a gap in the roster. To mitigate these losses, Auburn acquired Colorado transfer defensive back Jahquez Robinson in June. Currently, Kayin Lee and Keionte Scott are the expected starters at cornerback. However, the depth chart behind them remains uncertain and will likely be determined after fall camp. This situation underscores the challenges Auburn faces in maintaining a robust and competitive secondary for the upcoming season.
