Former Las Vegas Raiders head coach Jon Gruden faced another setback in his lawsuit against the NFL, as the Nevada Supreme Court ruled against him. Gruden had filed a contract interference and conspiracy lawsuit after resigning from his position in 2021. His resignation followed the leak of emails revealing racist, homophobic, and misogynistic messages he had sent to a Washington Football Team executive.

Gruden alleged that the NFL and commissioner Roger Goodell orchestrated the leaks. However, in May, the Nevada Supreme Court determined that Gruden was ineligible to sue the league, mandating that he seek remedy through arbitration.

A point of concern for one justice was that arbitration might allow Goodell to preside over a case involving himself and Gruden, potentially leading to a conflict of interest. This decision represents a significant blow to Gruden’s legal efforts to hold the NFL accountable for the leaked emails that ultimately led to his resignation.
