Although Terry’s roster is almost full, the organization is apparently keeping an eye on another possible addition.
College basketball analyst Jon Rothstein said on Wednesday that Glenn Taylor Jr., a transfer forward from St. John’s who played in 33 games and made 21 starts for coach Rick Pitino last season, had been contacted by Texas.

Teams including Texas Tech, BYU, Auburn, Utah, Minnesota, Oklahoma State, Green Bay, and many more are said to have been in touch with Taylor Jr.

Taylor Jr., a native of Las Vegas, spent his first two seasons as a student at Oregon State. For the Beavers in the 2022–2023 season, he averaged a career-best 11.6 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 2.2 assists. However, with the Red Storm this past season, his scoring totals drastically declined.
He only scored in double figures three times during the previous season, with a career-low 4.4 points per game. On February 28, he gave a season-high 17 points and five triples in an 82-59 victory over Butler.

The Longhorns added transfer commitments and ensuing signatures this offseason from Jordan Pope of Oregon State, Tramon Mark of Arkansas, Julian Larry and Jayson Kent of Indiana State, and Malik Presley of Vanderbilt. Jaime Vinson, a 2024 prospect and former Vanderbilt signee, committed to the Longhorns on Monday. He signed fast and arrived on campus this week, making Texas’ most recent roster addition.
On Monday, Nov. 4, the Longhorns play the Ohio State Buckeyes in Las Vegas for the Hall of Fame Series to kick off the regular season. Taylor Jr. would be playing for the Longhorns in his hometown if Texas is able to sign him.
