No More Excuses: Ravens Owner Demands Super Bowl Victory from Lamar Jackson

Baltimore Ravens owner Steve Bisciotti is growing restless. The last time the team won the Super Bowl was in February 2013, led by Joe Flacco. Now, Bisciotti is counting on quarterback Lamar Jackson to bring another championship to Baltimore.

Jackson, selected 32nd overall in the 2018 draft, is heading into his eighth NFL season. He delivered a career-best performance last year, throwing for 4,172 yards, 41 touchdowns, and only four interceptions. Still, the season ended in disappointment when the Ravens fell to Josh Allen and the Buffalo Bills, 27-25, in the divisional round. Despite winning two NFL MVP awards, Jackson has reached the AFC Championship just once, a 17-10 home loss this past January.

At 28, Jackson is in his athletic prime. Bisciotti knows the window to win is open—but not forever. Speaking through the Ravens’ official site, he said, “We’ve got a window with Lamar. I know what we can do. I know we’ve worked to put ourselves in position to win.”

He added, “We all get credit for that. That’s all you can do. I hate that every year, you have to start back over again. But this is not for the meek.”

Bisciotti’s words suggest added urgency. Although Jackson signed a five-year deal in 2023, the Ravens have already started discussions around a possible contract extension. The franchise is clearly building around him—but results must follow.

For Bisciotti, it’s not just about Jackson. He wants a Super Bowl for the entire organization.

“I don’t look at Lamar singularly,” he said. “I want it for Ronnie Stanley, I want it for Marlon Humphrey. I want it for [General Manager] Eric DeCosta. It doesn’t stop with Lamar.”

The Ravens’ 12-year title drought weighs heavily on him, especially when others in the league still haven’t experienced a Super Bowl win. “Impatience is good for you,” he explained. “I think it’s healthy to a degree because all of us still feel it.”

As the 2025 season approaches, the message is clear: the pressure is on Lamar Jackson to lead the Ravens back to glory. And for Bisciotti, the time is now.
