Reasons for Boycotting Mark Harmon’s Young Gibbs Series by Some NCIS: Hawaii Fans.

Cancelled Mark Harmon by Jane Tennant

Could this be the first “NCIS” cross-series feud?

Fans of “NCIS: Hawai’i” have initiated a boycott and renewal movement on X, formerly known as Twitter, precisely because they believe that “NCIS: Origin” is to responsible for the popular drama’s termination. They have a variety of motives. Some of them believe that CBS chose the younger series with a veteran franchise star over the uncertain future because they could not finance both “Origin” and “Hawai’i,” while other variables also appear to be at play.

The budget for this show and NCIS Origins—I believe that’s the name—about Gibbs in his early years prior to him becoming an NCIS agent, is the reason NCIS Hawaii was canceled, according to @nicolebbdos1, who added that they take no responsibility for this. While several fans pointed out that a Leroy Jethro Gibbs (Mark Harmon) origin story is likely to feature less diversity than “Hawai’i,” even suggesting that CBS might prefer such a show, @julianna_author quietly proposed a boycott.

However, was the drama truly shelved to create room for a sinister, potentially off-putting origin narrative for Gibbs? You wouldn’t believe how difficult the solution is.
