After spending time away on loan, it has now been revealed that Philippe Coutinho will be departing the team permanently this summer since Emery doesn’t want the Brazilian.

The 31-year-old, who was considered something of a coup when he joined Villa Park, made just two appearances this season before moving to Al-Duhail FC in Qatar, where he has six goals in 20 games across all competitions.

Among the highest paid players at the club, his contract expires in 2026, but he is unlikely to add to his 43 Villa appearances, and it looks probable he will leave this summer due to interest from Brazil. According to reports from last week, Villa was only willing to go with him for £6 million. If his pay savings are taken into consideration, this could earn them as much as £20 million.
