Title: Kentucky Women’s Basketball Roster Update
Exclusive Report: Aidan Mahaney, Transfer from Saint Mary’s, to Visit Kentucky
Kentucky’s head coach, Mark Pope, and the Wildcats are set to host a visit from Aidan Mahaney, a standout player from Saint Mary’s transferring via the portal. According to Field of 68’s Jeff Goodman, Mahaney will be in Lexington this weekend, with another visit planned for UCONN shortly after.
Mahaney, a 6-foot-3 guard, has already explored options at Creighton and Virginia. In an interview with Recruits Zone, he revealed a broad initial list of schools, including Duke, UConn, Kentucky, and several others, when he entered the portal.
During his freshman season at Saint Mary’s, Mahaney made significant contributions, starting in 26 out of 35 games. His performance helped Saint Mary’s achieve success in the West Coast Conference, earning him accolades such as WCC All-Freshman team and WCC First-Team All-Conference honors.
In the following season, Mahaney continued to excel, aiding Saint Mary’s in securing conference titles and a notable NCAA Tournament seeding. His consistent scoring and impressive shooting percentages have made him a sought-after prospect in the transfer portal, currently ranked 14th overall and the second-ranked combo guard.
Mahaney’s upcoming visits to Kentucky and UCONN mark pivotal moments in his decision-making process as he evaluates his options for the next chapter of his collegiate basketball career.
