Joe Mazzulla says he'll never forget this moment with Blake Griffin

Boston — The Celtics actually made an effort to unite in order to get Blake Griffin back during the season, even though they had an open roster place for most of it. After playing in Boston the previous season, Griffin remained a free agent and was thus available.

However, Griffin was comfortable and happy with his life, spending much more time with his family and not playing video games. After 14 years in the NBA, Griffin announced his retirement from the game on Tuesday, calling it a career. Despite playing for the Celtics for just one season, Griffin was a well-liked player in the locker room.

Al Horford remarked, “Everyone here, we love Blake.” There seems to be a lingering optimism that he might still be alive in some capacity. Simply put, a ton of happy memories with him. He made the year he was here enjoyable for me. Simply put, getting to know him and having daily conversations with him at work was enjoyable. A few things about him personally and off the court. Simply an amazing man.
