Tottenham capitalise on Man United and Villa stumbles in Champions League chase

Tottenham Hotspur anticipates having Richarlison ready to play against Newcastle United on Saturday, despite his absence from their recent match against Nottingham Forest. Spurs secured a 3-1 victory over Nottingham Forest, with goals from Micky van de Ven, Pedro Porro, and an own goal from Murillo, while Son Heung-min took the lead in Richarlison’s absence.

Manager Postecoglou clarified that Richarlison’s omission from the Sunday match was precautionary due to a knee niggle, aimed at ensuring he’s fit for the upcoming Newcastle game at St James’ Park. Richarlison, who has scored 11 goals for Spurs this season, including two against Newcastle in December, is expected to be back in action after this rest period.

Newcastle United, under Eddie Howe, is preparing for a challenging summer transfer window, but their immediate focus is on the match against Tottenham. Coming off a 1-0 win against Fulham, Newcastle sees this game as a test of their ability to secure a top-eight finish in the Premier League, even as Champions League qualification seems unlikely this season.
