A veteran wide receiver, Mike Williams, who had a productive 2023 season with the Los Angeles Chargers, has signed a new contract with the New York Jets. Williams, originally drafted in the first round in 2017 and spending his entire career with the Chargers, joins the Jets for the upcoming season.

In 2023, Williams had a brief season due to an ACL injury after playing only three games as the second option in Justin Herbert’s offense. Despite this, he managed 19 receptions for 249 yards and one touchdown. The Chargers released him ahead of the 2024 season to save $20 million in cap space.

Williams’ journey began in 2017 when he was drafted by the Chargers, initially having a slow start in his rookie season with limited appearances and receptions. However, he progressed well in the following years, earning a larger role in 2018 and showcasing notable improvement in his performance, especially in the 2021 season, where he achieved career-best statistics in receptions, yards, and touchdowns.
