The Los Angeles Rams have extended a tender offer to edge rusher Michael Hoecht, who is a restricted free agent, signaling their interest in retaining him for the upcoming season. The specific type of tender, whether it’s a second round or original round tender, has not been disclosed, but it’s presumed to be the latter. This would require the Rams to invest slightly under $3 million to keep Hoecht for one season, with no compensation if he chooses to sign with another team.

By tendering him, the Rams reserve the right to match any offer Hoecht receives from other teams. Had they opted for the second round tender, as they did with A.J. Jackson earlier, the Rams would receive a second round pick as compensation if Hoecht signs elsewhere and they decline to match the offer.

It’s anticipated that Hoecht will likely remain with the Rams for the 2024 season under this arrangement, playing at a salary of $3 million.
