Chiefs DE After missing the Super Bowl victory over the San Francisco 49ers due to a knee injury, Charles Omenihu underwent “successful” surgery to repair his torn ACL: “Journey
commences.”
Chiefs defensive end Charles Omenihu has successfully undergone surgery to address the knee injury that kept him out of the recent Super Bowl victory against the San Francisco 49ers. The 26-year-old sustained an ACL tear during Kansas City’s triumph over the Baltimore Ravens in the AFC Championship Game last month. Unfortunately, Omenihu had to watch from the sidelines as his teammates secured their third Super Bowl title in five years in Las Vegas.
In an update on Tuesday evening, Omenihu shared that the surgery was a success and expressed gratitude for the well wishes and prayers. Posting several pictures from the hospital bed, the defensive end acknowledged the challenging road ahead for his recovery. He mentioned, ‘I’ve been through the dark before, and God has always guided me to the light. This will be no different. THE JOURNEY BEGINS.’
Omenihu concluded with a reference to Jeremiah 29:11, stating, ‘For I know the plans I have for you,” this is the Lord’s declaration plans for your welfare, not for disaster, to give you a future and a hope.’
