Brian Callahan, the new coach of the Titans, is bringing a former colleague from the Bengals to Tennessee.

Tennessee has made significant coaching additions under first-time head coach Brian Callahan. Colt Anderson, formerly Callahan’s colleague in Cincinnati, has been appointed as the Titans’ new special teams coordinator. Additionally, Scott Fuchs has been named assistant offensive line coach, and Steve Donatell has been brought on as a defensive assistant.

Colt Anderson, who worked alongside Callahan in Cincinnati for the past four seasons as the assistant special teams coach, brings a wealth of experience. During the 2023 season, the Bengals achieved notable special teams success, ranking 10th in punt return average, eighth in punt return average allowed, and second in holding opponents to 17 yards on kickoff returns. Anderson had a nine-season NFL career, playing for Minnesota, Philadelphia, Indianapolis, and Buffalo starting in 2009. His college journey began as a walk-on at Montana.

Scott Fuchs, a newcomer to the NFL, will serve as an assistant offensive line coach for the Titans. With 29 out of 30 seasons coaching offensive lines in college, Fuchs has a wealth of experience. His recent three-year tenure at Kansas follows coaching stints at Buffalo, Wyoming, North Dakota State (his alma mater, where he won three national titles), Southern Illinois, Grand Valley State, Nebraska-Omaha, Minnesota-Crookston, Wisconsin-Eau Claire, and Valley City State.

These coaching appointments signal the Titans’ commitment to bolstering their staff with seasoned professionals from both the NFL and college football ranks.

Donatell performed the same duties with Miami, which concluded 2023 with a 12-game winning streak. In 2022, he began his NFL coaching career as a defensive quality control coach, working under his father Ed, who was the defensive coordinator for Minnesota at the time.

After working for three seasons as a defensive quality control analyst at Stanford, he began his coaching career in 2018 at Chattanooga.
