Early 2025 Super Bowl Odds for the Cleveland Browns Are a Little Embarrassing

3 Cleveland Browns who stood out on defense against the Eagles

Characterizing the 2023 NFL season for the Cleveland Browns as tumultuous would be an understatement. Despite facing challenges such as the loss of key starters due to season-ending injuries, including starting quarterback Deshaun Watson, four-time Pro Bowl running back Nick Chubb, and two-time All-Pro offensive tackle Jack Conklin, the Browns remained a formidable team in the AFC.

Benefiting from a top-ranked defense spearheaded by Myles Garrett, the NFL Defensive Player of the Year, and an offense led by the resurgent Joe Flacco, Cleveland achieved a commendable 11-6 record, tying for the second-best in the conference. Despite a significant defeat in Super Wild Card Weekend against the Houston Texans, the Browns’ season can be considered a success given the adversity they faced.

As the offseason approaches with notable players entering free agency and some salary cap concerns, Cleveland appears poised to be a strong contender in the 2024 season. However, the early 2025 Super Bowl odds at BetMGM, currently at +5000 for the Browns, might not fully reflect their potential. These odds place them at 18th among all NFL teams and 10th among AFC squads.

Comparatively, the reigning champions, the Kansas City Chiefs, lead the AFC teams with +750 odds, followed by the Baltimore Ravens (+850) and Buffalo Bills (+1200). While it’s not unexpected for the Browns to have lower odds than these teams, a closer look suggests that Kevin Stefanski’s team may be slightly underrated in the betting landscape.
