Chairman Nigel Travis, who oversaw a group that purchased Orient in 2017, stated in December that there had been “significant interest” from outside parties in investing in the team, which is now in last place in the League One standings.

The Londoners train at Chigwell Private School, and long-term goals include building a new stadium and a custom training facility.

“The club can confirm that a period of exclusivity has been granted to a group to help progress discussions around acquiring a majority shareholding in Leyton Orient Football Club,” the organization said in a statement.outside

“During this procedure, both parties will keep cooperating, and the football team will continue to run normally in the interim.

“Fans are cautioned that this procedure may require some time.

The team would ask fans to continue showing their unwavering support for Richie Wellens’ team and to exercise patience during the process.

Although Orient posted record income of £7.7 million in their most recent reports for 2023–24, they claimed a loss of £3.7 million.

Forecasts indicate that this season’s income will increase to just under £9 million.

The club explained in an external statement that they “need to seek additional investment” and are “working through the process to identify suitable long-term partners who share the interests of the club and our community and could help take the club forward.”
