Head coach Karl Lennon will be hoping they can build some momentum heading into the play-offs and both teams they play this weekend sit below them in the NIHL South Division 1 table.

Lennon said: “The good work we’ve done in the last three or four weeks, with structure and shape, will help us with what we do against those teams.

“I see us having to build from now until the end of the season. We’ve probably got quite a few more games against teams below or around us, than we have against teams at the top of the table.

We have to use that as momentum and confidence leading into the closing part of the season so that we’re prepared for play-offs.

“And the good thing is we still have three games against the top sides in the division as well, so it’s not like we’ll be able to take anything lightly. We’re going to have to really dial that up now and towards the end.”

Missing from the Chelmsford game was captain Aaron Connolly with a hand injury. Both he and Ruskin Spinger-Hughes will have been grateful for the week off.

Connolly could be missing again this weekend.

“We missed him on that Sunday, for sure,” said Lennon.

“He would have made a difference. There’s no question about that.

“The time off allows us to try and heal him and a couple of the other guys that are nursing injuries.

“Ruskin had his first couple of games back from his own surgery. That’s also a couple more games under his belt. He needed to rest his hand following that.”
