Miami Heat rookies Kel’el Ware and Zyon Pullin addressed the media on Friday afternoon about their preparation for the upcoming Summer League. Both have only recently joined the organization following last month’s draft.
Regarding Ware, he has been focusing on improving his game and increasing his weight to match NBA standards. Standing seven feet tall and weighing around 240 pounds, Ware began taking his fitness seriously during his single season at Indiana University.
“At Indiana, I started taking it seriously and spent more time in the weight room,” Ware said. “I’ve already been in touch with the strength coaches here, and they’ve told me I’ll be working with them a lot to build my upper body strength.”
“My draft weight was around 230,” Ware added. “The goal is to reach a weight where I feel comfortable, which I believe will be around 240 or 245 pounds.”
