Recently, West Virginia football took significant strides toward building an impressive 2026 recruiting class by landing Brodie McWhorter, a four-star quarterback with multiple Big Ten and SEC offers.
Brodie has a cousin he attends high school with, Bear McWhorter, a four-star offensive lineman currently ranked as an ESPN Top 300 prospect. Bear, who also has multiple SEC offers, had verbally committed to Arkansas. However, he announced on Sunday that he is officially reopening his recruitment process.
In his tweet, Bear explained that he is de-committing “in order to take more time and rest assured I make the right decision for my future.” This decision opens up new possibilities for Bear’s college football career and adds a dynamic twist to the recruiting landscape. With his high ranking and multiple offers, Bear’s choice will be closely watched by several top programs aiming to secure his commitment.
