The Philadelphia Phillies, among baseball’s top teams in 2024, are eyeing outfield reinforcements as the trade deadline approaches. Could Dave Dombrowski, president of baseball operations, pursue Miami Marlins center fielder Jazz Chisholm Jr. within their division?

Bleacher Report’s Kerry Miller concocted an “outrageous” trade scenario aimed at shaking up the status quo:

**Phillies receive:** Center fielder Jazz Chisholm Jr.
**Marlins receive:** Outfielder Justin Crawford and shortstop Starlyn Caba

Miller labeled this proposal as “outrageous,” noting that trades between division rivals are rare occurrences.

“Chisholm, while not having his career-best season, has been healthy and more productive than Philadelphia’s current outfield options,” Miller explained. “With two more seasons under team control beyond this one and a salary of just $2.6 million this year, he represents a cost-effective, long-term solution for a team already committed to the highest 2025 payroll.”

Chisholm’s arrival could significantly bolster the Phillies’ outfield, which has struggled at the plate this season. Before July 1 games, Philadelphia outfielders collectively posted a .236/.299/.363 slash line, ranking 23rd in MLB with a .662 OPS according to FanGraphs.
