Chicago Sky star Angel Reese

Chicago Sky rookie Angel Reese has been on a remarkable run, setting a new WNBA record with 10 consecutive double-doubles in her debut season. Reese, who leads the league in rebounds per game, recently surpassed Las Vegas Aces star A’ja Wilson in this category.

On Sunday, Reese achieved a feat no other player in the league has accomplished: 10 straight double-doubles. She recorded 10 points and 16 rebounds in a 70-62 loss to the Minnesota Lynx.

WNBA legend Candace Parker previously held the record with nine consecutive double-doubles. Despite shooting just 4-of-16 from the field, Reese made history by converting a free throw late in the fourth quarter.

Reese has been a dominant force throughout June, averaging 14.5 points and 13.2 rebounds for the month. Overall, she’s averaging 13.3 points and 11.4 rebounds for the season. Her strong performances have propelled her past Wilson, making her the league leader in rebounds per game at 11.4, compared to Wilson’s 11.1.

The left-handed forward excels particularly in offensive rebounds, leading the league with 4.8 per game, well ahead of Seattle Storm’s Ezi Magbegor, who averages 2.9.

Despite the Sky falling out of the playoff picture with their recent loss, Reese’s impressive campaign continues, and she is poised for a bright future in the WNBA.
