Michigan football’s recruiting efforts have successfully extended into LSU territory, with new head coach Sherrone Moore establishing a presence in Marrero, Louisiana. This achievement is largely attributed to offensive passing game coordinator and wide receivers coach Ron Bellamy, a New Orleans native and alumnus of Archbishop Shaw High School.
The Wolverines have now received their second commitment from Archbishop Shaw this month. Jacob Washington, a four-star wide receiver, recently announced his commitment to Michigan.
Washington, the first wide receiver for Michigan’s 2025 class, is ranked as a top-50 wideout nationwide by 247Sports and the No. 8 recruit from Louisiana. He is enthusiastic about joining Michigan’s offense, noting, “I can definitely see myself fitting into Michigan’s offense. They put up huge points every week. A lot of the routes and the concepts are downfield. I like to consider myself a deep threat that can take the top off a defense. I can see myself catching touchdowns week-by-week in The Big House.”
Before committing to Michigan during an official visit, Washington also received offers from Missouri, Baylor, Mississippi State, and Georgia Tech. His commitment follows that of Jasper Parker, a three-star running back from Archbishop Shaw, who pledged to Michigan two weekends ago.
