recent developments; After a career low this season for Cowboys wide receiver CeeDee Lamb, analysts suggest trading Steelers Mike Tomlin to George Pickens for Lamb.

Until they make a move for a No. 2 boundary receiver, the Pittsburgh Steelers will be at the center of wide receiver trade speculations.

While Brandon Aiyuk, Deebo Samuel, and Courtland Sutton have been frequently mentioned when discussing Pittsburgh, Bleacher Report’s Brad Gagnon suggested a deal in which the Steelers would give George Pickens and a second-round pick to the Dallas Cowboys in exchange for CeeDee Lamb.

At just 23, George Pickens is already well-established in the NFL, in contrast to the rookie receivers previously mentioned, according to Gagnon. “However, the Steelers may decide to arm Justin Fields and Russell Wilson to the fullest extent possible.”

“This would be a little more of a player-for-player transaction, with Dallas saving money and gaining some draft capital and Pittsburgh doing everything in its ability to get this right, because Pickens is coming off of a 1,000-yard sophomore season. Considering that the Steelers are in better cap shape than the Cowboys, this trade makes a lot of sense.

Lamb recently had one of the greatest receiving seasons in NFL history, snagging a league-high 135 receptions for 1,749 yards and 12 touchdowns. In 2025, he is expected to be a free agent.

The Steelers would be extremely fortunate to acquire one of the top three wide outs in the NFL, but they would still be lacking a number-two receiver. Yes, they would improve their top aim, but they would essentially remain in their current predicament.

Could they go out right now and acquire a different receiver? Indeed. That’s where a John Metchie or Treylon Burks would probably be brought in for essentially nothing.
