Breaking: The Steelers have ultimately decided to sign wide receiver Cameron Heyward, and they have released a video record.

There hasn’t been much outside news to cover while the Steelers’ OTAs have been underway. For the previous two weeks, organized team activities and Cameron Heyward’s nonattendance at OTAs in pursuit of a lucrative new contract deal have dominated the conversation.

Things are beginning to line together this week. Pittsburgh is adding another cornerback to the mix and Heyward makes an appearance as they wrap up their last OTAs this week. Get the most recent Steelers news here.

It is imperative to bear in mind that OTAs are entirely optional; no one is pressuring him to don a suit. Heyward is still taking the field, though. This video, courtesy of Alan Saunders of Steelers Now, features Walter Payton Man of the Year with head coach Mike Tomlin.

Heyward, 35, wants to be compensated as one of the NFL’s best interior defenders. Given his age and the fact that he missed almost the whole 2023 season due to a groin ailment, Omar Khan and the front office might be hesitant to comply.

Heyward, 35, is one of the top interior defenders in the NFL and wants to be paid accordingly. Omar Khan and the front office may be reluctant to cooperate given his age and the fact that he missed nearly the whole 2023 season because of a groin injury.

Arnold was selected by Philadelphia in the 2020 NFL Draft as an undrafted free agent. Before playing for the Eagles for six games in 2021–2023, he was a member of the Houston Texans. Only 26 NFL games have Allen appeared in, with one start coming in his rookie year.

The former Baylor prospect was a little 5’9″ and 186 pounds with tiny 29″ arms at the 2020 NFL Combine. His lackluster stature and physical attributes (a mere 4.59 speed and a 33″ vertical leap) were the main reasons he was not selected in the draft. This summer in Pittsburgh, he’ll try to compete against an inexperienced group of slot cornerbacks.

Troy Fautanu has officially signed his rookie contract with the Pittsburgh Steelers, as it was only a matter of time. By doing this, he is formally committed to the squad through the 2027 campaign.

The front management will have the chance to use the franchise tag for Fautanu during the 2027 offseason, something they haven’t done much of lately. As a player who commits to Pittsburgh for the long run, Fautanu will want to buck that tendency. It is anticipated that the rookie center will make his career debut.
