Greg Olsen, who has called games for FOX Sports for the previous three seasons—the last two of which he spent as the network’s top commentator—was awarded a second Sports Emmy, this one for best event analyst.

The former Panther was one of six nominees for the honor, along with Troy Aikman, Tom Verducci, Cris Collinsworth, Bill Raferty, and John Smoltz.

Olsen defeated competitors including Eli Manning and Robert Griffin III to win an Emmy last year for best developing on-air talent.
Fans have grown to love Olsen in the broadcast booth since he retired after the 2020 NFL season. Tom Brady signed a contract with FOX Sports to become its top football pundit despite that and his accolades. Brady will assume the position in the next season.

According to reports, Joe Davis and Olsen will serve as FOX Sports’ second-best announcing duo.

From 2014 to 2016, Olsen made NFL history as the first tight end to achieve three seasons in a row with at least 1,000 receiving yards. This accomplishment came during his tenure in Carolina. His 39 touchdowns rank fourth in team history, while his 6,463 yards rank third.
