The Kansas City Chiefs agreed to a rookie contract with their second-round selection.
There was some question surrounding the starting left tackle position for the Kansas City Chiefs going into the offseason. Wanya Morris, who didn’t play much as a rookie, is entering his second season in the league, while Donovan Smith is still unsigned.
A tackle was selected by the Chiefs in the second round.
The final two seasons of Kingsley Suamataia’s college career were spent with the BYU Cougars.
Suamataia joined the Ducks for his first year of college before moving to the Cougars for the 2022 year. He would play 24 games and start 22 throughout his steady spell with the organization. In 2022, he played RT, then in 2023, he switched to LT.
With 13 pressures, 6 hurries, 5 hits, 2 sacks allowed, an 86.1 pass block grade, a 52.9 run block grade, and a 67.5 PFF grade in 2023, Suamataia played in 11 games and started 10 of them.
He was selected for the Big 12’s All-Big 12 Second Team.
