Current Aston Villa transfer rumors: the Champions League team is interested in two Serie A players.
It is rumored that Aston Villa has been scouting Italy and is interested in spending somewhat more than £55 million to buy two Serie A defenders.
According to Italian media, Villa is considering signing Torino player Raoul Bellanova. Scouts kept an eye on Bellanova, who played in a 3-1 victory over Milan and assisted the right wing-back.
The 24-year-old is reportedly being watched by Villa multiple times this season, and West Ham and Manchester United are reportedly also interested. If Villa or their two Premier League opponents want to hire him, it will set them back at least €25 million, or £21.2 million.
Despite only having been a member of Torino for a year, Bellanova has made a consistent impact, contributing seven assists and one goal in 38 games in all competitions. He had previously been a member of Inter Milan’s roster and had participated in three Champions League games, including last season’s championship matchup against Manchester City.
This season, a right-back may be required because Ezri Konsa will be filling in for Matty Cash when the Poland international isn’t available. Bellanova’s only appearance for the Italian national team came in a March 2024 matchup with Ecuador.
It is also thought that Aston Villa is interested in signing Italy’s Andrea Cambiaso, a defender valued at £34 million by Juventus. It has previously been reported that Juventus turned down approaches from Man United and Arsenal following their communication.
In order to negotiate a new deal that would increase the player’s salary—he is now under contract through 2027—a meeting with his agent has been scheduled.
The 24-year-old, who reportedly paid €13.3 million to join the Serie A powerhouses in 2022, was on loan at league rival Bologna for the previous campaign. Cambiaso has participated in 39 games for the Old Lady this season, starting on the field three times and creating six goals.
Alfredo Pedulla has put in a €40 million bid, which would be a substantial sum for a left-back. Alex Moreno and Lucas Digne are already available for Villa.
