May 21st adidas has officially announced that it will be Aston Villa’s new uniform partner starting in the 2024–2025 season. For Villa’s first Champions League season, Adidas will take Castore’s place.

No price was stated for the new collaboration, which is reported to be a record for the team. It was described as a multi-year agreement. For the first time, adidas is supplying Villa’s uniform.

Nassef Sawiris, a co-owner of Aston Villa, owns roughly 7% of Adidas.

Villa was apparently paying Castore £3 million a season, but the players’ complaints over Castore’s “wet look” shirts—which they said retained sweat and affected performance—caused the relationship between the two parties to soured.

Adidas will provide training apparel and match uniforms to junior, women’s, and men’s teams.

“We believe we should be judged by the company we keep, which is why we are delighted to announce our partnership with adidas, one of the biggest and best sports brands in the world,” stated Chris Heck, president of business operations at Aston Villa. With this agreement, Aston Villa Football Club begins an exciting new chapter in our quest to continuously rank among the world’s best football teams.

Aston Villa and Kaizen Gaming brand Betano announced a new jersey sponsorship and principle partner agreement last month. The deal is anticipated to be worth £20 million over the course of two seasons. This agreement will expire when the Premier League decides to voluntarily forbid betting companies from sponsoring players’ jerseys.

“To partner with the club for the first time in our histories is a signpost for an ambitious future together,” stated adidas Global Football General Manager Nick Craggs. “From the foundation of making the best product for both athlete and fan, to sharing stories and moments that will connect us with Aston Villa fans worldwide.”
