Nadal will return to the Philippe Chatrier tennis court at Roland Garros for the first time in two years. The Spaniard last appeared on that court in 2022, when he defeated Casper Ruud in the championship match to claim his 14th clay-court title in the French city.

He suffered a hip injury last year that prevented him from defending his trophy, but he will return this year. Although he is in Paris, the Spaniard hasn’t formally announced that he would be attending the event.

The 22-time major winner did, as scheduled, travel to Paris and will train before making his anticipated comeback to the courts. where his tennis career saw the greatest success.

Naturally, we won’t find out until he takes the court for his first match whether or not he will play, as he has previously intimated that he may withdraw.

Nadal has made it clear that he won’t participate if he doesn’t think he can win the tournament, but sources say he will play no matter what.

As of for now, it is confirmed that Nadal will arrive at Philippe Chatrier on Monday, May 20, 2024. The first practice for the Spaniard is set to begin at 5:00 p.m. local time. It will run till 6:30 p.m. local time in 90 minutes.

Being present is crucial for the French Open since he is the most recognizable player in the history of the competition and his name is essentially connected with it. Who knows? Perhaps this is the last French Open competition that Rafael Nadal will ever play in.
