Milwaukee Bucks Are Expected to Retain $60 Million Free Agent Star.
The Milwaukee Bucks are going to enter the offseason with more problems than answers following their devastating playoff defeat. To be competitive in the Eastern Conference, the team is expected to retain Malik Beasley for the upcoming campaign in all of these.
Beasley first entered the league as the Denver Nuggets’ 19th overall pick in the 2016 NBA Draft. That period saw the former Florida State star play limited minutes during his first two years with the team. Eventually, the shooting guard saw his minutes increase, as well as his productivity on the court.
Beasley, who is in his eighth NBA season, inked a $2 million one-year contract with the Bucks for the 2023–24 season. The former rookie for the Nuggets averaged 11.3 points, 3.7 rebounds, and 1.4 assists per game over 79 games, 77 of which he started with Giannis Antetokounmpo and Damian Lillard. In addition, he made 44% of his shots from the field, 41% from beyond the arc, and 71% from the free-throw line.
Malik Beasley is expected to remain a free agent with the Milwaukee Bucks.
Despite having few branches, Beasley’s talent tree is centered on a three-ball that normally ranges from warm to red-hot. Prioritizing the better shooter makes sense because Milwaukee will never have too many spacers surrounding Giannis Antetokounmpo, according to Buckley.
Given that Beasley can create space around the two-time MVP, it made perfect sense to have him practice with the Greek Freak. If the Bucks decide to keep Beasley, they should look for defensive studs to make up for his shortcomings on that end of the court.
There are many unanswered questions surrounding the Bucks as they head into the offseason. In any event, if the squad hopes to compete for another championship, it might be advantageous to retain Beasley on board.
