The University of Alabama’s football team, known as the Alabama Crimson Tide, competes in the SEC’s West Division within the NCAA Division I Football Bowl Subdivision. Since its inception in 1892, the program has seen 28 head coaches and 1 interim head coach. Kalen DeBoer has been at the helm since January 2024.

After adopting the Crimson Tide moniker in 1907, the team has played over 1,100 games across 119 seasons. Twelve coaches have guided them in postseason bowl games, including notable names like Wallace Wade, Bear Bryant, and Nick Saban, who also secured national championships during their respective tenures. Bryant holds the records for most seasons coached and games won, tallying 232 victories in 25 years. Saban boasts the highest winning percentage among multi-game coaches, while Jennings B. Whitworth has the lowest. Four of Alabama’s coaches—Wade, Thomas, Bryant, and Stallings—have been inducted into the College Football Hall of Fame.
