Next year, the Texans are set to participate in the 2025 NFL Draft with a total of seven picks. Currently gearing up for the imminent 2024 NFL Draft, they boast nine picks for this year.
Looking ahead, the Texans won’t possess a sixth-round pick in 2025 due to a previous trade with the Steelers. However, they have secured a pair of fifth-round picks as part of a deal involving wide receiver Stefon Diggs from Buffalo.
In an exchange last August, Houston traded their 2025 sixth-round pick to the Steelers for offensive lineman Kendrick Green. The 2025 NFL Draft is scheduled to be hosted by Green Bay, commencing on Thursday, April 24.
Houston’s draft prospects for 2025 include picks in each of the first four rounds, along with additional selections in the fifth and seventh rounds. Executive Vice President/General Manager Nick Caserio, known for his active trading during Draft weekends, has orchestrated 18 trades in his previous three Drafts with the Texans. This substantial draft capital, totaling 16 picks across the next two Drafts, provides ample flexibility for the Texans to maneuver, whether they choose to trade up, down, or maintain their positions.
