Philadelphia Eagles quarterback Jalen Hurts will have a new offensive coordinator and quarterbacks coach in the 2024 season, with Kellen Moore joining as offensive coordinator and Doug Nussmeier as the quarterbacks coach. While Hurts is unfamiliar with Moore, he has a pre-existing relationship with Nussmeier, who previously recruited him to Florida during his high school years.
Nussmeier and Hurts both have ties to Alabama, although they didn’t overlap at the university. Nussmeier served as Alabama’s offensive coordinator from 2012 to 2013, while Hurts played for the Crimson Tide from 2016 to 2018.
Moore and Nussmeier come to Philadelphia after working together for five NFL seasons, primarily with the Dallas Cowboys and the Los Angeles Chargers. Hurts expressed excitement about the new coaching staff during a press conference, emphasizing his desire for growth and development as a player.
Entering his fifth NFL season, Hurts has experienced changes in offensive coordinators both in college and the NFL but remains focused on maintaining a high standard of play and setting a positive team culture as the Eagles start their offseason program.
