Former Georgia guard Jabri Abdur-Rahim has announced his commitment to Providence, according to Field Level Media’s report on April 15, 2024. Abdur-Rahim entered the transfer portal after spending three years at Georgia, following a single season at Virginia. In the 2023-24 season, Abdur-Rahim had a standout performance, averaging 12.2 points and 3.5 rebounds in 29 games, with 27 starts. He maintained a 35.6 percent shooting accuracy from 3-point range, close to his career average of 35.4 percent. Providence has now secured commitments from three players in the transfer portal, including Miami guard Bensley Joseph and Saint Joseph’s center Christ Essandoko.

In other transfer news, former Belmont forward Malik Dia is transferring to Ole Miss. Dia began his college career at Vanderbilt in 2022-23 before moving to Belmont. His performance surged this past season, averaging 16.9 points, 5.8 rebounds, and 1.2 assists per game in 33 contests, with 24 starts. He maintained shooting percentages of 48.8 percent overall and 34.1 percent from beyond the arc. Across his college career at Vanderbilt and Belmont, Dia has averaged 11.5 points and 4.2 rebounds per game in 53 games.

Butler has secured a commitment from Maryland transfer forward Jamie Kaiser. Kaiser, a highly rated prospect out of high school, had limited impact during his freshman year at Maryland, averaging 4.4 points and 2.0 rebounds per game in 33 games, with five starts. Kansas State has added guard Christian “CJ” Jones, a transfer from Illinois-Chicago. Jones contributed 9.0 points, 3.6 assists, and 2.7 rebounds per game over two years at UIC, with an improved performance in the 2023-24 season, where he averaged 11.4 points, 4.8 assists, and 3.5 rebounds in 33 games, with 31 starts.
