NRL 2024: Manly Sea Eagles recruit Luke Brooks feels the pressure released after shifting from Wests Tigers

Brooks’ partnership with Daly Cherry-Evans, a Sea Eagles legend, in the halfback position has been instrumental in his improved performance this season. Since moving to Manly, Brooks has expressed happiness and has seamlessly integrated into the squad, benefiting from the team’s experienced players and exceptional skills.

Having played over 200 NRL games in a decade without experiencing finals football, Brooks understands the frustration of not reaching that milestone, especially during his time at West Tigers. The pressure of being the main player, particularly during losses, had taken a toll on Brooks, affecting his passion for the game.

However, his move to Manly has provided a fresh start and a supportive environment where he doesn’t carry the sole burden of responsibility as the No.7 player. This shift has encouraged a collaborative approach between the halves duo, allowing Brooks to showcase his attacking prowess with one try and three assists in six appearances. Additionally, his defensive contributions have been consistently commendable, highlighting his value as a valuable asset to Manly.
