Davante Adams dismisses Steelers trade rumors, indicating that he intends to stay with his current team. The Pittsburgh Steelers have been seeking a veteran wide receiver to complement George Pickens, with names like Brandon Aiyuk and Tee Higgins in consideration. However, Adams’ name had also surfaced as a potential target, sparking speculation throughout the offseason.
Despite initial speculation about a possible move to the Steelers, Adams quashed these rumors during an interview at his youth football camp, stating, “If I wanted to be gone, I’d be gone by now. … This is where I want to be.”
Previously, discussions had emerged regarding a trade between the Steelers and the Las Vegas Raiders, with the hope of acquiring Adams at a reasonable price compared to other options in the trade market. However, with Adams expressing his desire to remain with his current team, it appears that this trade possibility is no longer on the table.
Adams, who is 31 years old, is coming off a successful season with the Raiders, recording 1,144 receiving yards and eight touchdowns. Given his performance and commitment to staying put, the Steelers may now focus on other potential options, such as Brandon Aiyuk from the San Francisco 49ers.
