Kentucky has secured commitments from a pair of Virginia Tech players who will be joining former coach Kenny Brooks in Lexington. Georgia Amoore, a former Hokies All-American point guard, and Clara Strack, a promising freshman center, have both signed with the Wildcats, as announced by the school.

Amoore, who entered the transfer portal with a “do not contact” designation on April 1, revealed her commitment to UK on April 4. Coach Brooks expressed his excitement about adding Amoore to the roster, citing her work ethic and achievements as valuable assets in building Kentucky’s competitiveness.

Similarly, Strack, who entered the transfer portal with similar restrictions on April 2, committed to Kentucky on April 5. Coach Brooks praised Strack’s productive freshman year and postseason performance, highlighting her potential as a valuable addition to the team.

Amoore, recognized as a Third Team All-American by the Associated Press and a finalist for the Nancy Lieberman Award, boasts impressive stats from her time at Virginia Tech. She averaged 18.8 points, 6.8 assists, and 2.6 rebounds per game while shooting efficiently from the field, three-point range, and the free throw line.

On the other hand, Strack, a highly regarded prospect coming out of high school, showed promise in her freshman year with Virginia Tech, particularly during the NCAA Tournament when she stepped up in the starting lineup due to an injury, showcasing her skills with notable performances.

The addition of Amoore and Strack is expected to strengthen Kentucky’s roster and contribute to the team’s success moving forward.
