Virginia Tech basketball star Sean Pedulla gets shot at Oklahoma State

Oklahoma basketball is set to welcome Sean Pedulla, a standout point guard from Virginia Tech and native of Edmond, for an official visit this weekend. As the Sooners prepare for their inaugural SEC season and revamp their backcourt, Pedulla’s visit signifies a high-priority recruitment effort by Coach Porter Moser and the OU staff.

Standing at 6-foot-1 and weighing 190 pounds, Pedulla ranks as the No. 23 player overall in the 247Sports transfer portal rankings and is considered one of the top point guard transfers available, trailing only Javon Small from Oklahoma State and Malik Mack from Harvard.

In his junior season with Virginia Tech, Pedulla excelled as a scorer, leading the team and earning third-team All-ACC honors. He posted impressive stats, averaging 16.4 points per game with a shooting percentage of 42.4% from the field and 32.5% from beyond the arc. Additionally, he showcased his playmaking skills with 4.6 assists, 4.3 rebounds, and 1.2 steals per game. Pedulla’s contributions placed him among the ACC’s top scorers and assist leaders, highlighting his effectiveness on the court.

His rise to prominence began in his sophomore year at Virginia Tech, where he transitioned from a role player to a key starter, demonstrating consistent scoring ability and playmaking prowess. Pedulla’s career shooting percentages, including 35.5% from three-point range and 83.3% from the free-throw line, underscore his scoring versatility and efficiency.

Originally rated as a three-star prospect in high school, Pedulla has evolved into a coveted four-star player in the transfer portal, offering one year of eligibility to his next school. Oklahoma aims to secure Pedulla’s commitment, presenting an enticing opportunity for the local talent to contribute significantly to the Sooners’ basketball program.
