Virginia Tech basketball: College of Charleston forward Ben Burnham transfers to Hokies - Gobbler Country

Virginia Tech basketball coach Mike Young made a notable addition to his team with the transfer of College of Charleston forward Ben Burnham to the Hokies, marking his second transfer acquisition of the week.

Last week was challenging for Young and the Hokies following a disappointing season that ended with a second-round NIT loss to Ohio State. Several key players, including leading scorer Sean Pedulla, center Lynn Kidd, guard MJ Collins, top bench scorer Tyler Nickel, and others, entered the NCAA transfer portal. While Kidd swiftly joined Miami, Poteat withdrew his name from the portal after initially entering.

Pedulla, Collins, Nickel, and Camden remain in the portal, suggesting they are unlikely to return. This situation left Young with available scholarships, and this week brought positive news with UTSA guard Jordan Ivy-Curry announcing his decision to join Virginia Tech for his final college season, offering a potential replacement for Hunter Cattoor.

The addition of Ben Burnham from College of Charleston adds depth and talent to the Hokies’ roster during a period of transition and rebuilding.
