Breaking news from Kentucky: The Wildcats, ranked No. 17, achieved a sweeping victory over No. 13 Alabama, advancing to an impressive 11-1 record in SEC play. Additionally, Kentucky made waves in the recruiting world by flipping a 4-star commitment from Virginia Tech.

Under the leadership of new head coach Kenny Brooks, Kentucky’s recruiting momentum has been remarkable. After securing three commitments in just three hours the previous night, Brooks landed his first high school commitment on Friday. Lexi Blue, a 4-star wing from Orlando (Fla.) Lake Highlands Prep who had been committed to Virginia Tech since last July, announced her decision to join Kentucky on social media.

Blue, standing at 6-2, is highly regarded as the No. 38 overall prospect in the 2024 class by ESPN. She joins Kentucky’s impressive 2024 class, which also includes forward Amelia Hassett from Eastern Florida State College and former Virginia Tech players Georgia Amoore and Clara Strack, all of whom committed to the Wildcats within hours of each other.

Brooks, known for his success in building up Virginia Tech’s program and leading them to their first-ever Final Four appearance last season, expressed his excitement about Kentucky’s potential. Since taking over as head coach at Kentucky, Brooks has extended scholarship offers to several notable prospects, including Imari Berry, ZaKiyah Johnson, and Adelaide Jernigan.

It’s a dynamic time for Kentucky basketball, with significant recruiting successes under Brooks’s leadership and ongoing developments in player transfers and recruitment.
