Providence Basketball: How to watch the Friars vs Kansas in Sweet 16

Providence’s head coach Kim English expressed his frustration after the Friars were left out of the 2024 NCAA tournament, criticizing the sport’s analytical approach. English disagreed with Providence’s exclusion, arguing that the emphasis on analytics is flawed. He criticized the practice of scheduling weaker teams in non-conference games to inflate win differentials, suggesting that such tactics may become more common in college basketball. English highlighted that the Big East faced tough opponents and top coaches, yet only three teams from the conference made the tournament. Although acknowledging that his team had some shortcomings in games they should have won, English maintained that there are flaws in the analytical system used for tournament selection.
