Houston Rockets head coach Ime Udoka is seen conversing with guards Fred VanVleet and Jalen Green in a photograph. Despite the Rockets’ impressive performance and their climb into play-in contention while the Golden State Warriors struggle, NBA bettors are largely unconvinced by their success.
According to Kevin Hennessy from Fanatics Sportsbook, there hasn’t been much interest in betting on the Houston Rockets to win the NBA Championship. Their odds stand at +50000, similar to teams like the Chicago Bulls, Atlanta Hawks, and Utah Jazz. The Bulls and Hawks are expected to finish in the ninth and tenth spots in the Eastern Conference, while the Jazz have already been eliminated from playoff contention.
The Rockets, with a record of 37-35, are just half a game behind the tenth-placed Warriors. Their recent win against the Oklahoma City Thunder was particularly notable, securing a 132-126 victory on the road.
Despite their strong performance, the Rockets only have a 1 percent share of bets and less than 0.5 percent of the total betting handle at FanDuel, according to spokeswoman Rachel Spraker. BetMGM spokesman John Ewing also noted limited interest in betting on the Rockets, with just 0.4 percent of wagers placed on them to win the championship.
ESPN BET lists the Rockets at +100000 odds to win the title, while BetRivers has them at +14000. The tiebreaker in the playoff race favors the Golden State Warriors due to their 2-0 season series lead, with one more game remaining between the two teams on April 4th.
