Before the NFL Draft, Blake Corum makes a big impact at the Michigan football pro day.
The Michigan football Pro Day in Ann Arbor marked another significant moment for the 2023 Wolverines, who continue to make history following their national championship victory. With a record-breaking 18 players receiving invites to the NFL Scouting Combine and over 150 NFL evaluators attending their Pro Day, the team is now aiming to set a record for the most players drafted from a single school in one draft. Among these prospects is running back Blake Corum, expected to be selected in the upcoming 2024 NFL Draft.
At the Pro Day event, Blake Corum showcased his skills and impressed NFL scouts. According to a report from Bleacher Report NFL insider Jordan Schultz, one NFL executive praised Corum’s agility, physicality, and ability to catch the football. Despite not re-running the 40-yard dash to improve his previous time, Corum did participate in the short shuttle drill and significantly improved his time from 4.12 seconds to 4.07 seconds.
While his physical measurements at 5-foot-8 and 204 pounds may not immediately stand out, Corum’s on-field performance and versatility are highly regarded. His contributions to Michigan’s championship run included impressive rushing and receiving stats, totaling 3,737 rushing yards, 422 receiving yards, and 61 touchdowns throughout his college career.
Before the Pro Day, Corum was projected as a Day 3 draft pick, but his strong showing could elevate him to Day 2 consideration. However, the draft’s timing for running backs remains uncertain, as there are no first-round running backs in this year’s class. The first running back off the board is expected to be Texas RB Jonathon Brooks, with Corum and several others likely to follow in the mid-to-late rounds of the draft.
Overall, Corum’s performance at the Pro Day has boosted his draft stock, positioning him as a valuable prospect for NFL teams in need of a dynamic and skilled running back.
