Luka Doncic commended the Dallas Mavericks for their performance in a win against the San Antonio Spurs, despite his own struggles with shooting during the game. Despite shooting poorly, the Mavericks managed to secure a 112-107 victory, shooting 34.5 percent from the perimeter as a team. Doncic still contributed significantly with a triple-double, recording 18 points, 16 assists, and 10 rebounds, although he struggled shooting 6-27 from the floor and 2-11 from beyond the arc.

Reflecting on the team’s effort, Doncic expressed satisfaction with the win, emphasizing that winning is what matters most. He acknowledged the team’s depth and the contributions of players like Dante Exum, Kyrie Irving, and Maxi Kleber, who played crucial roles in the victory. Irving notably scored 16 of his 28 points in the second half, providing a boost to the team’s offense.

The Mavericks have seen improvements in their play, especially with the consistency of having key players like Irving in the lineup. Additionally, strategic moves before the trade deadline have bolstered the team’s defense, contributing to their recent success with a 6-1 record in a stretch where they allowed just 108.7 points per 100 possessions.
